Slow motion test

Image
This was an attempt to film the first scene of the music video. However it did not go as planned as it was too cold for my actors so we decided to do it on a warmer day. This also showed me that my shutter speed was too low for slow motion so it looks very blurry from motion blur so next time i will have a faster shutter speed so it looks better with no blur. This is a good test to show what this part of the music video is going to look like.

Website update 2 (Home Page)

Image
This is my Home Page. I have decided to keep a minimalistic feel to the website as it is simple but effective/stylish and I am able to do it with little to no struggle. I have put an interview with the main artist as one of the first things you see, briefly describing what the EP is about. then lower down we have some information about how you can get the song. I needed to save this page from having much information as I need most of it to go on the about page. For this 'Interview' I have chosen a more casual style of filming. I wanted it to almost look like a home video. Therefore I hand held the camera so it had a reasonable mount of shake. I wanted it to almost look like a quick interview that was done mid recording of the music video.

Website update 1 (Backgrounds)

Image
My backgrounds have a common theme throughout the pages of my website. This is to show clearly the main artist and create a more personal connection between the artist and the person viewing the website. I wanted more of my artist's face revealed to us the more we go throughout the page. Then on the final page (ABOUT) I have revealed both the artist's faces in order for this page to show the most 'about' them.

scene 4.2

Image
This scene comes before and after Scene 4. The scene above is only half of this scene, the scene after scene 4 (after the dispute). I haven't found the need to storyboard this scene before the dispute as it will have similar shots to this one. As the two sections of this scene are filmed in the same location, it will show the drastic change of emotions that both characters feel towards one another. I want to make this even more dramatic by having the second/final section of the scene being filmed at night which contrasts it even more from the day part of the same scene. This location will have a good emotional attachment that both characters will feel when they come to this location (having good memories at the basketball court). Then at the end of this scene the only thing the surviving character will know is that he killed his friend at thus location. So these scenes create a huge impact on their lives.

scene 4

Image
This is the main tipping point in my narrative, directly in the centre of it. I am doing a scene inspired by the game GTA which I have shown in a previous blog. This scene will work well with my narrative, and it also uses my first narrative idea. This 'scene 4' shows the creation of the dispute between my two characters. This is when the drug trade goes wrong due to one of the friends trying to hustle the other. This scene is in between scene 4.2.

scene 2&3

Image
These two scenes will both be a part of the performance as well as the first scene. the 3rd scene is used to show the environment that the artists are in with them in the car from the first scene showing them in their neighbourhood. And the second scene showing their stardom with the colour white in the scene, it is showing their wealth like typical hip hop music videos. I am having this many locations so that it says interesting for the music video.

scene 1

Image
This mainly outlines the intro of my music video. I have taken inspiration from R. Kelly's music video where there are jump cuts on the beat of the music, so I am using that in my music video to establish my characters/artists. The shots that are shown in the blue box are repetitive main shots that I will be using to cut back to this scene after the main sequence of shots.
