Locations

Another location is a car park in derby city, this is where I should be able to get most of my artists one on one shots with the viewers. I will  also be using the low rider in this part of the video. This location can be shot at night or at sunset/golden hour or during the day. I will be getting a lot of shots from this location and will be featuring the main parts of my music video.



One of my locations can be inside my school, if I am going to get the effect of R Kelly or Kanye West's music video this is probably going to be one of the best places to film it. There is a white backdrop in a room in my school where I should be able to get the overexposed, blown out look that I am after if I intensify it with lights.


The next location will be in a shopping place within 'The Meadows' in Nottingham where I will be recording the narrative part of my music video. This location is very British which is what I am trying to avoid because my song can't be any more american, however it is almost impossible to avoid a 'British looking' location so I am using this location as I believe it is my best bet. This location doesn't look very glamorous and instead looks quite poor. Therefore it could be a part of the 'hood' that is mentioned in the music video. This is also where I will be using most of my intertextuality.

Another location for shooting, isn't really a location it is just driving around with shots of the car and my artist's in it. This location will be very similar to the car park location with the artists rapping/singing into the camera from either car seat. For these shots I will be sat in the back with my tripod out the sides of the car with the camera facing them to get horizontal shots of the car.

I may yet have more locations later on however these are the main ones for now. There will most likely be more locations where the narrative part of my music video is.

Intertextuality is the relationship between texts. It is the idea that all media texts reference one another in one way or another. for example in Shrek there is a lot of itertextuality showing that intertextuality doesn't just have to be with literal 'texts' it cam be in any form of media.   We can clearly see the intertextuality in this video as this scene is almost made from intertextuality.   The first part of the intertextuality is with the three blind mice. The artist of this song, (kanye and jamie) has a very specific appearance. the image that they are showing for this video is that they are both very rich powerful men with the all while that they are wearing alongside their jewelry. this allows the audience to look up to them as a role model. Mise en scene in Nelly - Dilemma ft. Kelly Rowland

The mise en scene in this music video is close to the kind of mise en scene that I want in my music video, also it is the easiest type of mise en scene as I have all the resources in order to master it. This mise en scene is mainly just a regular town. I have chosen to study this mise en scene because my song is about the hood and what bad things happen within it. This song shows what an American hood will look like. Lighting It seems as if the music video is using natural daylight lighting, there could be minimal soft light when the artists are in shade. At night there is more low key lighting. This lighting is more angled and hard light directed towards the focus of the shot. In this music video lighting isn't really used as much as it could have been.
