Snoop dogg digipak

This side of the digipak has all of the tracks within the record listed on the left hand side. This side sticks to the same theme as the front with the two main colours being blue and gold to represent the 'rich life' of snoop dogg. Next to this the main focus of the image is the record label logo yet again being gold that is shining. It is clear to see now that digipaks go by a colour scheme that fits the content of the tracks, an they don't stray too far from it. Underneath there is the name of the executive producer. I find that this side is the content side, so whoever contributed to this record is listed on here hand what is within the record is listed on here as well. There is a black background to this digipak in order to make the text stand out. In one corner there is the bar code which i find to be typical of all digipaks as it is out the way away from the main content. Next to the bar code there are the other companies involved with this record including the official logo of 'No Limit Records'. It is clear to see that the smaller print isn't the main focus of the digipak and anything that isn't that important to market a digipak should be in small print to allow for the important aspects to be noticed as well.


Snoop Dogg is displayed at the top of the digipak which sticks to the themes of the back with the shiny gold lettering and a mansion below labelled 'Snoop World' like a theme park. This shows that listening to this record will bring you into 'snoop world' and learn about snoop dogg. The rest of this side of the digipak shows him with expensive clothes and jewelry. This represents his lifestyle which is most likely what he will be rapping about on the record seeing as it is the hip hop genre. At the bottom of this digipak there is a core message. This will entice the customer to buy and listen to the record so that they can understand what this message means. There is parental advisory on one of the corners.

Intertextuality is the relationship between texts. It is the idea that all media texts reference one another in one way or another. for example in Shrek there is a lot of itertextuality showing that intertextuality doesn't just have to be with literal 'texts' it cam be in any form of media.   We can clearly see the intertextuality in this video as this scene is almost made from intertextuality.   The first part of the intertextuality is with the three blind mice. The artist of this song, (kanye and jamie) has a very specific appearance. the image that they are showing for this video is that they are both very rich powerful men with the all while that they are wearing alongside their jewelry. this allows the audience to look up to them as a role model. Mise en scene in Nelly - Dilemma ft. Kelly Rowland

The mise en scene in this music video is close to the kind of mise en scene that I want in my music video, also it is the easiest type of mise en scene as I have all the resources in order to master it. This mise en scene is mainly just a regular town. I have chosen to study this mise en scene because my song is about the hood and what bad things happen within it. This song shows what an American hood will look like. Lighting It seems as if the music video is using natural daylight lighting, there could be minimal soft light when the artists are in shade. At night there is more low key lighting. This lighting is more angled and hard light directed towards the focus of the shot. In this music video lighting isn't really used as much as it could have been.
